Why We Built This Site
Finding a Harney County record often means moving among systems that are not interchangeable. The sheriff maintains patrol and jail material but publishes no current web roster. The Circuit Court clerk provides filed charges, docket events, judgments, and certified copies. OSP CJIS offers a limited name-based Open Record for another person and a fingerprint-based copy for self-review. DOC and the state registry answer narrower custody, supervision, and notification questions. The site brings verified request routes, fees, fields, and contacts into one reference.
What You Will Find Here
- Record guides: ways to search and interpret Harney County criminal court cases
- Official-check directions: the separate OSP processes for an Open Record and a fingerprint-based copy of your own record
- Agency contacts: verified routes to the sheriff, Circuit Court, municipal courts, DOC, and Oregon registry
- Set-aside guidance: where Oregon's ORS 137.225 process begins and how records move after an order
What We Cannot Do
As a privately operated reference site, Harney County Criminal History has no connection to an Oregon court, police agency, sheriff, or state department. Those limits mean:
- We do not retrieve criminal histories or conduct official checks
- We cannot submit set-aside motions, public-record requests, or other forms for a reader
- We do not issue certified court papers, criminal records, or rap sheets
- We cannot provide legal advice about a charge, warrant, disposition, or remedy
- We cannot promise that an agency's fee, hours, address, or procedure has not changed
Only the sheriff, court clerk, OSP CJIS, or another responsible custodian can issue an official record; this resource identifies where to ask.
Search Partners
Outside providers operate search boxes that appear on certain pages. Each provider sets its prices, produces its results, and follows its own data policy. If a visitor purchases a service after using a tool, a referral payment may help fund this resource. Harney County Criminal History does not determine the charge or the returned data.
